1. Solvent-Free One-Component System

SINOHESIVE® RD1608 is a solvent-free one-component PUR hot melt adhesive designed for flexible packaging lamination. It helps replace traditional solvent-based adhesive systems and creates a safer, cleaner, and low-odor production environment.

2. Suitable for High-Barrier Packaging Structures

It is suitable for high-barrier laminated structures such as PET/AL, Nylon/AL, OPP/AL, PET/VM-PET, BOPP/VM-PET, Paper/Aluminum Foil, and PET/Paper. It supports stable bonding performance in premium packaging applications that require both barrier function and attractive appearance.

3. Excellent Appearance & Reliable Lamination Quality

RD1608 helps deliver clean and uniform lamination appearance. It is effective in reducing common lamination defects such as white spots, gray spots, and adhesive penetration through aluminum foil pinholes, especially in aluminum foil and metallized film structures.

4. High Initial Tack & Easy Processing

The adhesive provides high initial tack for fast positioning between film layers, helping improve line efficiency and finished-product yield. Its one-component design also simplifies operation and reduces process complexity during production.

5. Safe for High-Value Packaging

The formulation is designed for demanding hygiene-sensitive applications. It offers zero VOC emissions and no primary aromatic amine migration, making it suitable for food packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, and other high-value flexible packaging fields.

Key Process Description

1. Heating & Preparation

SINOHESIVE® RD1608 is heated to the recommended operating temperature of 85–95°C to obtain stable flowability for flexible packaging lamination.

2. Uniform Adhesive Application

The adhesive is applied evenly onto the film, foil, or paper surface to form a thin and consistent bonding layer. This helps ensure stable wetting, clean coating appearance, and reliable layer integration.

3. Lamination & Fast Positioning

After coating, the target substrates are laminated together under controlled pressure and line conditions. The high initial tack helps the film layers achieve fast positioning and stable bonding during continuous production.

4. Bond Development

After lamination, the adhesive continues to build durable bonding performance, supporting high-barrier packaging structures, reliable finished-package quality, and resistance to demanding filling or boiling conditions.
